Bernie GorskiBernard Gorski, originally from Harrow Ontario, now lives in the area again. He graduated from the University of Windsor in 1976.  Along with being active in a large family farming industry since childhood, Bernard has also worked at and is co-owner of Gorski Bulk Transport Inc.

Bernard has been married for 30 years to his lovely wife, Nancy, and they have two bright young sons, both of whom have had involvement in the vineyard and the winery. Bernard’s hobbies include boating, flying, and a love of the great outdoors.

He was raised on a farm and acquired the knowledge of effective agriculture. In 2001 he took his passion of a sincere interest in wine-making which he has practiced since his days in university, and made a dream into a reality.  He planted his first vines and tended them carefully.  The result is Colchester Ridge Estate Winery Inc. where he is able to demonstrate his considerable skills by producing award-winning wines. The winery opened on July 5th, 2006 to much acclaim.

In 2006 Bernard became the president of SWOVA, the Southwestern Ontario Vintners’ Association presently rebranded as EPIC (Essex Pelee Island Coast). He is working hard to make this region famous for its viticultural and vinicultural accomplishments and potential. The goal to produce world class wines is being realized in the fruits of Bernard and Nancy’s labour: a quality selection of CREW wines certain to delight even the most discriminating palate.

Nancy GorskiNancy Gorski holds a Master’s degree in English Literature.  She taught briefly as a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor, but spent much of her time raising two talented sons who have both been involved with the vineyard and the winery operations since the fields were planted. Over the last few years, Nancy has furthered her education, concentrating on the Master Taster’s course offered through Brock University’s satellite campus in our area in order to hone her sensory acuity and appreciation of wine and also that she might highlight to our customers the many advantages of “going local” when choosing wine.

The world of wine has become a passion for Nancy, as well as for her husband of 30 years.  Together, they hope to elevate the recognition of Canadian wines to new and well-deserved heights. She is involved in administration and hospitality at the winery and conducts tasting seminars.  She also writes our tasting notes, but maintains that these are templates because the experience of wine-tasting is personal. Customer satisfaction is her topmost priority.

Michelle Turnbull anchored at CREW in July 2014. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Michelle holds a Bachelor’s in English from the University of Kansas as well as an Advanced Massage Therapy Degree. She has lived in both the Caribbean and Niagara before settling in her husband’s home town of Windsor, ON.

While Michelle has always had a fondness for wine and a sharp palate, a visit to Napa in 2008 set her future in motion.  She fell in love with the winery lifestyle and has since seen her career evolve from massage therapist to hotel manager to tasting room director to taking the helm as CREW’s right hand girl. She passed WSET Advanced with merit and has attended various wine related symposiums and conferences and aims to never stop learning. She brings to CREW many years of world class hospitality and the desire to share her wide appreciation for all things vino.

Michelle loves both food and travel, and has eaten and drank in various locations throughout the world. She can’t wait until her two very young boys are old enough to take them along as well. In the meantime, she’ll continue to enjoy her husband’s cooking (good thing he’s a chef!) and CREW wines – once the kids are in bed, of course!
